September in Vancouver is great. What’s not to love about it? Many tourists have returned home now, so we have our city back to ourselves again. Cool in the early morning, and hot later on, but the nice kind of hot, with the feeling of fall starting to linger tentatively on your bare shoulders. Patios in the evening are fantastic, and its harvest time.
Life is good.
Update on a shocking story of how our justice system handles repeat offenders, http://lailayuile.wordpress.com/2008/08/28/shocking-failure-of-the-domestic-assault-policy/ . Shahzad Sardar Ali – a violent repeat offender with a lengthy criminal history, allegedly assaulted and attempted to murder a young woman in August, all while out on bail for the same acts against a previous girlfriend. He is currently facing a total of 10 charges, including two counts of attempted murder, possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes(2), aggravated assault, assault, uttering threats(2),failure to comply with conditions of bail(2), and is being held in custody. He appears yet again in Surrey Provincial Court this morning, following previous hearings on Sept 3rd and Sept 10th. I will post the outcome of todays appearance, and will continue to follow and keep you updated as the case proceeds. Court lists are available onlinefor those who are interested in taking a look at what exactly our justice system is dealing with in terms of quantity. It truly is unreal to see the sheer number of cases being processed through one courthouse.
Did anyone else catch the clip of Newton MP Sukh Dhaliwal trying to backpeddle when speaking with a CTVreporter on yesterdays evening news? When asked if he contacted police to find out what was really going with convicted drug trafficker Ranjit Cheema, he replied he tries to keep out of police business, but in hindsight he should have. The jig’s up, Mr. Dhalwal. No soup for you! Will he step down? Not a chance. Will he get re-elected in this riding ? With complete certainty.
I was recognized by a few readers of mine while out and about recently, and it was during one introduction that it struck me that most of you probably don’t know how my name is actually pronounced. For the record it is Ly-la Yule, not Layla Yuley… hehe. Yes, the spelling is deceptive, and if had even a dime for every time I’ve heard the Eric Clapton tune “Layla” sung, I would be a rich woman. So, there you have it. Laila -looks like Lay-la, sounds like Ly-la.
And just for you babe, because I know you have a good chuckle everytime you hear the song on Larry and Willy, ” It’s Business Time”… personally, I have NO CLUE why you like it so much ; ) Only exhausted, busy married people with kids will understand the humour in this.

I posted the Business Time video on my blog a short while ago too! Haha, it is too funny, I love it. Seems we have lots in common!
My husband LUVS it…. and where do you think I found it ???? Your blog…lol.. I took a look today, saw that , and howled. I’m sure he doesn’t know there is a video, so this will make his week. Makes me yearn for the good old days of dating… ah, but what can you do when a shirt without baby spit is considered a hot outfit?
A shirt without baby spit is definitely a hot outfit. Sometimes I outdo even that and put on makeup. Occasionally I do my hair as well. My husband is a very lucky guy ahahaha!
