Food for thought in consideration of the Canada-China FIPA

“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within.

An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly.

But the traitor who moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself.

For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men.

He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist.

A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague.”

~  Marcus Tullius Cicero

  1. Without a word of doubt Laila, that is the the absolute truth of what has happened to Canada…and BC in particular. Traitors. Treasons. Crimes worth prison for the rest of their natural days – ALL of them.

  2. On the NDP site I searched FIPA – NO results so I tried FIPPA and this refers only to the ‘Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act’ (FIPPA).
To the NDP: It is essential the people of BC know what your position is on FIPA. We await your reply.

  3. And there’s this:

First they came for the communists,
    and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a communist.
Then they came for the socialists,
    and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists,
    and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a trade unionist.
    Then they came for me,
and there was no one left to speak for me.

  4. Truer words have never been written. Good post Laila. We are living in very evil times.

BC has been under siege for so long, by so many monsters, I think we all have battle fatigue or P.T.S. BC gets rid of one monster, only to get another monster. Then we have to deal with the big monster, on Parliament Hill as well.

Harper is the granddaddy of all monsters. The only politician that had the guts to speak against, Traitor Harper’s High Treason, was Elizabeth May. All the rest of them seem to be, in on Harper’s treachery.

Business as usual in BC. We have had no-one to speak up for us, for over a decade now. We fight the mob in Ottawa. We fight the Campbell/Clark BC Liberal mobsters. The BC NDP don’t stand up for us either.

There is a diabolical, plot going on in this country. I feel frantic, to get BC out of Harper’s Canada. I have felt this, get out, get out, get out, get away away from Harper’s evil, as fast as we can. I have felt this, since way back in Campbell’s ugly time in office. At times I absolutely feel sick.

  5. Laila,
If it sounds like a threat it is a threat. It sounds like a threat to me. We live in very dangerous times.
Keep in mind what happened to one of our favourite bloggers.
    Take good care, Jean

  6. My take on FIPA is that it is meant to stop discrimination against foreign investors.

For example, Alberta may want to make a law to reduce takeovers of their resources by Chinese investors. A Chinese investor then could challenge that law under FIPA.

Or BC may want to pass a law to limit Chinese workers in BC mines. The Chinese-owned mine could then challenge Canada under FIPA.

    1. Seriously? Seriously WTf? Lets protect the special areas we who have money love to play and recreate in… and screw the rest

Screw the mom and dad who camp and fish because its a cheap holiday the kids love and they can afford… screw the middle income who cant afford to rent any bloody cabin or cottage on most waterfront regardless of where they are, screw everyone but those who have it all….

Seriously. Can someone explain this to me? Because with all the education I have under my belt, combined with years of practical experience…. I am just not getting what the hell these people are thinking.

Someone, please… tell me it is not just me.

  7. The goverments plain just do not respect (or represent) the people who put them in power – both provincial and federal.
I’m all right Jack is their philosophy – pity those who cannot afford our taxes.

Time for the people to demand their country back – bugger the corporations etc.

    Thanks
