Sunday night musings.

So, starting tomorrow morning I am working on a blog related project. That means little if any time for the blog, Facebook or emails that aren’t totally urgent for the next five days. And when I am not working this project, I will be thinking very big thoughts and considering which fork in the road to take in the fall. ; )

So… while I am busy with my nose to the grindstone of this project, and too tired to post at the end of the day, please take a look through my archives, my Best of Page and anything else. And yes, I do write poetry. Everyone has an outlet… that’s mine!  Be good  and I will be back with some great stories next week.

  1. Hey Laila, we all appreciate the effort and hard work you put into your blog. There are far too many unaffiliated voices in public discourse and yours speaks volumes. Thanks for your inquisitiveness and determination to uncover the truth – some thing the MSM gave up on long ago. Cheers!

  2. Thank you for all the work you did on the Lumby prison dispute. It was great to have someone from outside our community looking at things that bothered us from the inside. We had the vote and the majority of people who were allowed to vote said no! Councillor Williamson voted against the prison. There is an online newpaper with an update: http://myvalleysun.homestead.com/Main2/News/4RCMPReport1.html
    Minister Bond is making a decision by the end of June.
    Sadly the process to put a prison in Lumby created a substantial ongoing community conflict. It will take time to heal. Anyway, thank you again for your clear thinking and great writing – all the best with your new project.

  3. Im very sorry your leaving us. I looked forward to your blogs and agreed with 99.9 % of it .. I Also want to thank you in helping us out here in Lumby, with this Prison issue that will be dead in the water hopefully this week ? . You gave me hope and help and a place to turn to.     We would miss you terribly Laila, if you leave.

    But, your children must come first. You have to keep a roof over their heads. Feed and clothe them. Especially in BC, the cost of living has gone right out into orbit. Price gouging in BC, has gone up to new heights. Gasoline prices are insane, food costs up 15%, the HST, hydro going up to 53% higher, the NEW CARBON TAX goes up, starting July 1st.

    Nowhere do I see, Christy’s family’s first, anywhere in this province. Christy has put family’s, seniors, and low income people last. The HST comes first with Christy and the Liberals. The HST has cost BC, many job losses. This was said on TV, the other western provinces all gained jobs, BC did not. All the HST provinces are failing badly.

    BC people are up to their necks in debt. Their money doesn’t stretch to the next payday. They end up having to live on their credit cards. There is no “trickle” down money saved by the people, from big business. We have been trying to cope with the HST, for quite some time now. When people have to live on credit cards, means, BC people can’t cope. Will that matter to Christy? No, it will not, she is every bit as evil as Campbell is. She is using every dirty tactic in the book, as Campbell did, lying, deceiving, cheating and thieving our tax dollars, for her asinine stick man TV ads, you decide. Right Christy, you are pathetic, people are to decide for themselves, with a whole lot of help from you and your lies.

    Then we have crooked little, Craig James of Elections BC, also living in Christy’s crooked little house. It is abundantly clear, the BC people do not want the HST. Pretty much everyone thinks, there will be more corruption with the referendum, as there was in the recall. When it is fine by Craig James, for Christy to look cute under her umbrella, right outside the election hall doors, campaigning people on their way in to vote. We by that will know, what to expect from James, a good friend of Campbell’s regarding the referendum.

  7. Am I missing something? Laila isn’t retiring. She is off to work on a blog related project.
    Don’t forget folks, the kids are soon to be let out of school for the summer.

    There are archives to satisfy the cravings.
    I look forward to a poem or two, or three or five, Laila.
    Maybe something funny? LOL.

  10. Whatever your venture, you will most certainly do well. That goes without saying.

    I hope you don’t leave us forever. You would be sadly missed. Post us some tidbits now and then.
