Wishing all of you, the happiest of Easter!

From my family to yours, may this day be filled with warmth, joy and laughter.

There is a fragrance in the air, a certain passage of a song, an old photograph falling out from the pages of a book, the sound of somebody’s voice in the hall that makes your heart leap and fills your eyes with tears. Who can say when or how it will be that something Easters up out of the dimness to remind us of a time before we were born and after we will die?”

  1. A very Happy Easter to you and yours Laila! May this holiday bring much love and joy to your family, and may it continue throughout the year!
Best to you, thanks for all that you do for the public, your family, yourself.

  2. Now THOSE are Easter Eggs !

happy easter everyone, get out and enjoy the sunny weather.

  3. Indeed, my favourite, I wish I knew how to make those.. Enjoy this sun and don’t eat too many chocolates… 😀

  4. Happy Easter to you & yours Laila. Beautiful Easter Eggs. When I was a kid In Prince George a Ukrainian friend’s Mom and Grandmother made some every Easter. Same, or similar -Awesome /jj

  5. And a Happy Easter to you as well, Laila. I hope you will be enjoying this beautiful sunny day. Love those eggs! I actually attempted to make Ukrainian Easter eggs several years ago in my ‘crafty’ days, but they didn’t turn out nearly as lovely as those in the picture.

    • I did enjoy this lovely day and still enjoying it now, while getting dinner ready- real ham with crackling..mmm!

I have a few talents, but my easter egg making is the basic kind..lol… this is waaayyyy out of my league, but I have so my admiration for anyone who can do this!

I hope your day is going well… I cant remember an Easter as lovely as this in years!!

    • Aw,thank you Priscilla! Peace would be lovely, wouldnt it… seems not to be human nature to have it though.

  6. Happy Easter to you and your family Laila. I especially enjoyed the Frederick Buechner quote. Thank you.

    • Thank you Luigi – I have received a few emails asking if I was Presbyterian because of it,but I am not. Spiritual, but not religious, but respect others choices, beliefs and faith. And this quote just seemed so indicative of the feeling most experience around Easter.

Christian or not, this is a time of renewal, rebirth and new growth.

      Happy Easter!

  7. Happy Easter Laila! Loved the Buechner quote! Spent much of the day lost in family history research – now for a dinner with loved ones. The past, present and future are always an elegant mix.

    • Indeed they are sjm! I hope your holiday was fulfilling as well… this weather is phenomenal!

  8. Happy Easter Laila, I do enjoy your informative blog.
Have been searching internet for coverage of End HST Celebration event that I understood would be taking place in Victoria with Bill VanderZalm speaking at 1pm. but unable to locate any such info. Do you have any news of the event?

    • Thank you Barb, that is so nice of you to say! I didn’t check for any coverage yet, being so busy with other things yesterday but I did see a bit today.

  9. Not only did I have Easter dinner twice..one with family and one with friends…the wild rabbits around my place also feasted this weekend. They ate all the greenery from the grape hyacinths I planted, all the pansy and violet greenery and my neighbour’s lily. 🙂 I guess they wanted an Easter celebration, too. 🙂

    • Eek! Naughty bunnies but I guess we should forgive them since it was Easter..lol…
