With the dawn rising today comes for me, a never-ending stream of tasks in preparation for Christmas celebrations… and there is much to be thankful for. I’m so lucky to have so many wonderful friends and readers, many who’ve become like family, and of course, my incredible family. We’ve shared our joys and losses along with our triumphs and failures, and I like to think we’ve changed the world a little bit along the way.
Bob Hope once said: “When we recall Christmas past, we usually find that the simplest things – not the great occasions – give off the greatest glow of happiness.” I completely agree. In fact, it is rarely gifts that are remembered from year to year -unless they exceptionally touch the heart- but it is those brief moments of clarity when we let happiness take over without expectation or demand. The sight of children in awe of the real Christmas tree, with only lights on, prior to being decorated. The unexpected discovery of snow falling in the quiet of night. Christmas lights, the sound of carols…
From my home to yours, I wish you a very merry Christmas. I wish for you, peace in your heart, good health and happiness. May the world find a little more tolerance, patience and charity along the way…along with an appreciation of how lucky we really are to be able to share this special time with those we love.
Merry Christmas my friends, be well, be warm, and be happy! May the lights of home guide you safely through the season!
